KHIND MASAKAN MALAYSIA CHALLENGE

Challenge Terms & Conditions

  1. The KHIND “Masakan Malaysia” Challenge (“Challenge”) is organised by KHIND Marketing (M) Sdn. Bhd. (442421-A) (“Organiser”) and is open to all legal Malaysian residents aged 18 and above as of 31 December 2022.
  2. The following group of persons shall not be eligible to participate in the Challenge:
    1. Employees of the Organiser (including its affiliated and related companies) and their immediate family members (children, parents, brothers and sisters, including spouses); and/or
    2. Representatives, employees, servants and/or agents of advertising and/or service providers of the Organiser (including its affiliated and related companies), and their immediate family members (children, parents, brothers and sisters, including spouses).
    3. Anyone with professional kitchen, catering or cooking experience as it deems could create an unfair advantage, you will not be considered eligible.
    4. Anyone that has been charged with and/or convicted of any serious criminal offence.
  1. The submission period for this Challenge will be from 5 September 2022 at “00:00:01” to 30 September 2022 at “23:59:59” (“Submission Period”). The Organiser shall reserve the right to amend the Submission Period at any time without prior notice. All submissions received after the Submission Period will be null and void without further notice.
  1. To enter this Challenge, participants must satisfy the following criteria:
    1. Compete in a team of minimum 2 and maximum of 3 persons.
    2. Only halal ingredients are allowed. Non-halal ingredients are strictly prohibited.
    3. No limitation to type of food (example: main dish, dessert, snacks and etc), but must be a distinctively Malaysian food.
    4. Total preparation and cooking time for the food is to be less than 1.5 hours (90 minutes).
    5. At least two of the following electrical appliance(s) to be used in preparation of the food:
      1. air fryer
      2. oven
      3. steamer
      4. rice cooker
    6. Optional electrical appliance(s) includes but not limited to:
      1. mixer
      2. blender
      3. food chopper
      4. multi cooker
    7. The participants are required to upload the Malaysian food cooking they wish to compete with by posting in their own personal Facebook, Instagram or TikTok social media account by tagging #khindmalaysia, #masakanmalaysiachallenge and #segiuniversityandcollege with the following:
      • A video no longer than 1 minute to showcase and introduce the food.
      • A high resolution photo of the prepared food.
      • Caption it with the name of the food and story-tell why this food is distinctively Malaysian.
    8. Participants must also submit their entries via Online Submission:
      1. A completed online Entry Form with the required details from our website https://www.khind.com.my/masakan-malaysia
        • Provide the URL link to the video posted in the participant’s respective social media platform (access is to set to “Public” for Organiser to view and judge the entry).
        • Provide a high resolution photo of the prepared food (in JPEG/JPG file format not exceeding 5MB in size).
        • Include a description with the name of the food and story-tell why this food is distinctively Malaysian.
  2. The Organiser shall have the right to disqualify and/or reject entries where:
    1. the required details in the Entry Form are not provided, incomplete, illegible, unclear, inaccurate; and/or
    2. the submission does not follow the guidelines as set out in this terms and conditions and/or the recipes submitted are not original, have been submitted previously, published, won in another challenge/competition and/or used for advertising or promotional purposes.
  3. The Organiser is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorised access to, or alteration of, user or member communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet and/or websites.
  4. The Organiser will judge the qualified entries and select the top eight (8) teams as Finalists to compete in a live finale cooking challenge (“Finale Challenge”). The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize winners will be decided in the Finale Challenge stage.
  1. There are one (1) 1st Prize, one (1) 2nd Prize, one (1) 3rd Prize, eight (8) Finalist Prizes and Entry Prizes to be won. The prizes are:
    Category Prize
    Finale Challenge: 1st Prize x 1 winner The team will receive:
    • RM3,000 cash
    • 1x 40L Electric Oven (OT4030)
    • 1x 5L Stand Mixer (SM506P)
    * And an opportunity to become KHIND's Chef (receive free kitchen appliances for reviews and collaboration projects).
    Finale Challenge: 2nd Prize x 1 winner The team will receive:
    • RM2,000 cash
    • 1x 40L Electric Oven (OT4030)
    • 1x 5L Stand Mixer (SM506P)
    * And an opportunity to become KHIND's Chef (receive free kitchen appliances for reviews and collaboration projects).
    Finale Challenge: 3rd Prize x 1 winner The team will receive:
    • RM1,000 cash
    • 1x 40L Electric Oven (OT4030)
    • 1x 5L Stand Mixer (SM506P)
    * And an opportunity to become KHIND's Chef (receive free kitchen appliances for reviews and collaboration projects).
    Finalist Prize x 8 teams The team will receive:
    • RM300 cash
    • 1x 2.6L Air Fryer (ARF26)
    • 1x Hand Blender (BH600AS)
    Entry Prizes (every qualified submission) Every qualified submission participant will receive:
    • Cash voucher worth RM50 with minimum RM150 purchase of KHIND products at www.khind.com.my
  1. The Finalists (8 teams) are required to attend the Finale Challenge on a date and venue in Klang Valley to be determined by the Organiser where the Finalist teams are required to prepare and cook the challenge entry food submitted.
    1. Only participants with full and complete details provided in the Entry Form are eligible to enter the Finale Challenge. All the participants in the Finalist teams must attend the Finale Challenge in person and cannot authorise or elect a representative to attend on their behalf.
    2. All selected Finalist teams will be contacted via the phone number as provided on the Entry Form and the participants will be briefed further on the details and rules of the Finale Challenge.
    3. If any of the Finalist team cannot be successfully contacted after three (3) attempts, decline or fail to attend the Finale Challenge, the Finalist team will be disqualified and the next top shortlisted team may be selected to take the place of the disqualified Finalist team.
    4. The use of gas-powered stove/cooker is not allowed. Only electric or induction cookers are allowed and will be provided during the Finale Challenge.
    5. Participants are given a maximum time limit of 1.5 hours (90 minutes) to complete the Finale Challenge. Upon completion, the panel of judges will judge the cooking by the Finalist teams based on the following aspects:
      1. Uniqueness and creativity of the food (relevant to the theme).
      2. Taste
      3. Plating and presentation.
      4. Best use of KHIND Kitchen Appliances.
      The team with the highest score will win the 1st Prize, the second highest scoring team will win the 2nd Prize and the third highest scoring team will win the 3rd Prize.
    6. In the event of a tie, a judges’ vote will be conducted and the Finalist team with the highest number of votes will be deemed the winner of the bigger prize.
    7. All prizes must be claimed within three (3) months from the date of announcement of winners. All unclaimed prizes will be forfeited.
    8. All participants who submitted entries must present a copy of a valid identification document to the Organisers in order to claim their prizes.
    9. The Organiser shall reserve the right at its absolute discretion to substitute the prize with that of similar value, at any time without prior notice. The prize is non-transferable and all prizes are given on an “as is” basis and are not exchangeable for credit, and other items or vouchers in part or in full.
    10. All participants must abide by the terms and conditions of the party(ies) arranging and/or providing for the prize and the terms and conditions attached to the prize if any.
  1. Participants and their heirs shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap, injury, damage, claim or accidents (including death) resulting from their participation in the Challenge, redemption and/or utilisation of the prize and agree to release and hold the Organiser free and harmless of any liability.
  2. All transportation, accommodation, personal costs and/or any other costs, fees and/or related expenses that are incurred to participate in the Challenge, to attend the Finale Challenge and to redeem the prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.
  1. The Organiser reserves the absolute right to use the names and/or videos and/or photographs of the winners, the submitted entry caption, recipes/food and their prizes as materials for the purposes of advertising, trade and/or publicity, without any prior notice to the winners and the winners shall not be entitled to claim ownership and/or other forms of compensation on the materials.
  2. The Organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the Challenge in the event it becomes not possible for the Organiser to run the Challenge as planned including but not limited to unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Organiser, despite the best efforts of the Organiser.
  3. The Organiser reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant that is found or suspected of tampering with the Challenge submission process or the operation of the Challenge and the Organiser reserves the right to pursue legal action against any individual it believes has undertaken fraudulent activities or other activities harmful to the Challenge.
  1. By participating in the Challenge, you consent to KHIND Marketing (M) Sdn. Bhd. and any of its holding, subsidiary or related companies as defined in the Companies Act 1965 (“KHIND”) and service providers, agents and contractors who provide administrative and business support to us and act on our behalf (“Authorised Third Parties”) (collectively “Organiser”, “us”, “we” or “our") to process your personal information provided in the Entry Form for purposes of the Challenge. This includes disclosing your name to the general public when you become a winner in the Challenge or participate in our events by publishing your name, photographs, videos and other personal information without compensation for advertising and publicity purposes.
  2. The Organiser may also use your personal information for purposes of contacting and sending to you marketing and promotional information or materials about our products, services, any promotions, events, competition or contests organised by the Organiser. Please indicate your option on the form if you agree to the use of your personal information for this purpose.
  3. In the event that you agree to share and disclose personal information of a person whom you intend to refer to the Organiser, you acknowledge that you have obtained the consent of that person to share and disclose his/her personal information to us and to being contacted by us.
  4. At times the Organiser may retain Authorised Third Parties to process your personal information. All such Authorised Third Parties are contractually bound to take reasonable measures to keep information secure and not to use your personal information in any way other than that which is specified here and in our privacy policy at www.khind.com.my/privacy-policy.html
  5. The Organiser is a global company and your personal information may be transferred across borders. The Organiser will ensure that the country your data is transferred to has a similar or equivalent personal information protection laws in place, as set out in our privacy policy at www.khind.com.my/privacy-policy.html
  6. To the extent that the applicable law allows, you have the right to request for access to, request for a copy of, request to update or correct, your personal information held by us.   7. Please note the Organiser requires your personal information in order to process your participation in the Challenge, without which we will not be able to process your entry submission.

  1. The Organiser’s and judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence or appeals thereon will be entertained.
  2. By entering this Challenge, the participants agree to be bound by the Terms & Conditions of the Challenge and the decisions of the Organisers and judges.
